Deborah D. Shapiro

Deborah D. Shapiro joined her husband at Shapiro Law Offices in 1984. Her practice includes Real Estate law, Evictions, Wills and Estates, and Probate work. Deborah has received numerous awards for her exceptional service and commitment as a Real Estate attorney, including the Outstanding Achievement Award from CATIC and the Achievement of Excellence in Mortgage Closings from Liberty Bank. She is the recipient of the Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce 2011 Distinguished Citizen Award.
Deborah received her B.A. in 1972 from Connecticut College, where she majored in History with a concentration in Asian and American Histories. She attended law school at the Marshall-Wythe School of Law at the College of William and Mary from 1973-1975, and transferred to the University of Connecticut School of Law after her marriage and relocation to Connecticut, where she was awarded her J.D. in 1976. She is admitted to practice in Connecticut.
Deborah worked as the Deputy Elections Attorney in the Secretary of the State’s office from 1976 until 1984.

Deborah lives in Middletown, Connecticut. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, photography, and world traveling.
Sarah H. Shapiro

Sarah H. Shapiro joined Shapiro Law Offices in 2004, and is now a partner of the three-attorney family practice based in Middletown, CT. Her areas of work include Real Estate Law, Divorce Mediation, Landlord/Tenant Law, Wills and Estates, and Probate Work (including Conservatorships, Guardianships, and Parental Rights matters).
Sarah received her B.A. in 2001 from the Lynch School of Education at Boston College, where she majored in Psychology and Human Development (Counseling in Education). She received her J.D. in 2004 from St. John’s University School of Law in Queens, New York. She is admitted to practice in the State of Connecticut.
Sarah completed Mediator training through the CT Council for Divorce Mediation’s attorney-mediator training program in 2005. She has been appointed by the Superior Court to serve as a Special Master, helping litigants and their attorneys resolve disputed divorce cases through Alternative Dispute Resolution with the goal of avoiding trial.
She has been recognized as a Connecticut Super Lawyer annually since 2011.

Sarah lives in Middletown, Connecticut, with her husband and two sons. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, event planning, baseball and running.
Jonathan M. Shapiro

Jonathan M. Shapiro joined Shapiro Law Offices as a partner in 2010. His practice concentrates on corporate transactions, employment matters, and complex commercial and general litigation, as well as in arbitrations and mediations. He has represented individuals and businesses in a wide variety of matters including contract negotiations, purchase and sale of businesses, risk management, breach of contract actions, non-compete claims, unfair trade practice claims, trade secret misappropriations claims, commercial lease disputes, employment and insurance coverage disputes, breach of fiduciary duty claims and product liability claims. Jonathan regularly serves as "local counsel" for non-Connecticut-based firms that are admitted to practice pro hac vice.
Jonathan is admitted to practice in Connecticut and New York, as well as before the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the District of Connecticut. He was recognized as a Connecticut Super Lawyer “Rising Star” in 2010, 2011, and 2012, and was honored by the Fairfield County Business Journal at the 2011 40-Under-40 Awards Dinner. In November 2012, Jonathan was named as a "New Leader in the Law" by the Connecticut Law Tribune.

Prior to joining the firm, Jonathan was a senior associate at Day Pitney, LLP in its Stamford, Connecticut office. He earned his B.A. in History from Boston College in 1998 and his J.D. degree from the University of Connecticut School of Law in 2001.
Jonathan lives in Middletown with his wife and children. In his spare time he enjoys running, biking, reading, and spending time with his family
Jessica McDonald

Jessica McDonald joined Shapiro Law Offices in 2017. She has worked as a paralegal since graduating in 2014 with her paralegal certificate. She lives in Meriden, Connecticut with her husband and her two daughters. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, DIY home projects, interior design, home blogging and party planning.
